The Ducali were reduced to ten men from the 9th minute (Ndiaye was sent off): the Belgian defender and the Italian winger resolved the match, Sierro’s goal was useless November 7, 2026 – 8:32 PM

THE MATCH
Bologna secured their fourth consecutive victory in the eleventh round of Serie A, Palladino’s team taking the Emilian derby away to Parma 2-1 amid a frenzy of VAR checks. Goals from Theate in the 53rd minute and Orsolini’s penalty in the 72nd minute decided the match, with Sierro pulling one back from eleven meters in the 81st minute, but it wasn’t enough. The home side started with energy and determination, but by the ninth minute, Gilardino’s team’s game was in jeopardy: Zufferli was called to VAR for a last-man foul by Ndiaye on Odgaard, resulting in a red card for the defender, leaving Parma effectively outnumbered for the rest of the match. Gilardino’s injury problems were further aggravated in the 22nd minute, when Romero was forced off injured. Palladino also lost a player, with Miranda forced to make way for Mbangula (again with an injury). The Rossoblu pushed hard, taking advantage of the extra man, but the hosts defended and held the match 0-0 until halftime. At the start of the second half, the visitors managed to break through: Cambiaghi’s soft cross from the right led to Theate’s header, breaking the deadlock and putting the Rossoblu ahead. The winger, after providing the decisive assist, returned to the forefront shortly before the 70th minute when he was brought down in the box by El Bilal Touré. After a VAR review, Palladino’s men were awarded a penalty, which Orsolini made no mistake in the 72nd minute: the number 7’s return to goal made it 2-0. A few minutes later, another VAR review and another penalty were awarded, this time for a foul by Vitik on Fabbian. Sierro reduced the deficit in the 81st minute despite Skorupski’s guess, but it was the last gasp of the match. Bologna won and moved up to 17 points, while Parma remained stuck on eight.
