Season’s F1 drivers: Meet them all

F1 Guide: Meet all the drivers of the season

Gabriel Bortoleto is the only Brazilian representative in the elite of motorsport.

The new regulations are not the only change facing Formula 1 in the 2026 season. Beyond the technical aspects, the category will see the addition of another team to the grid with two new drivers. With this increase, the Drivers’ World Championship will now feature 22 competitors.

Max Verstappen’s confirmation concluded the process of defining the Red Bull team, which, like Racing Bulls, was the last to announce its lineup for the next season. The four-time world champion’s teammate will be Isack Hadjar.

The landscape of the next World Championship takes on new dimensions with the entry of Cadillac, expanding the grid and adding a new element to the Formula 1 competition. Another highlight is Audi, which also arrives for its debut in the category, “replacing” Sauber.

The only Brazilian in F1

After an eight-year hiatus since Felipe Massa’s departure, Brazil finally has a representative in the elite of world motorsport again. Gabriel Bortoleto racked up consecutive titles in F3 and F2 before reaching F1 with Sauber in 2025.

Although his debut season was marked by highs and lows, the impression left by the Brazilian was positive both inside and outside his team. Audi’s entry into the category promises to put Gabriel in contention for the top positions. Nico Hulkenberg remains Bortoleto’s teammate.
