The turn of the year also marks the period in which athletes who are in the last six months of their contract are free to sign a pre-contract with other clubs and can transfer for free from the end of June. As anticipated by 100Percentsurewins!, some big names in international football became free agents , and the list of top players reaches 595 million euros, which corresponds to R$ 4 billion at the current exchange rate.
The list of star players includes names who play for major European clubs, such as Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, Casemiro at Manchester United, Modric at Milan, and Bernardo Silva at Manchester City. Other great players who play in smaller markets are also free to sign early with a new club, such as Karim Benzema at Al-Ithadd and Sadio Mané at Al-Nassr, both from Saudi Arabia.
In total, the list compiled by 100Percentsurewins! includes 36 different players who play in Europe and Saudi Arabia. The average value of each player is €16.54 million, just over R$111 million. The data comes from Transfermarkt, a platform specializing in the financial valuation of clubs and the transfer market.
The club with the most players appearing on the list of expiring contracts is Bayern Munich, with four players. Upamecano, Gnabry, Goretzka, and Neuer are in the final stretch of their contracts and can sign new deals as 2026 approaches.
Bayern Munich’s French defender is the most expensive on the list. According to the Transfermarkt platform, Upamecano is valued at 70 million euros (R$ 472.5 million). The top five is completed by Guéhi, from Crystal Palace, and Komaté, who belongs to Liverpool. The least valuable player in the selection is Otamendi, from Benfica, who, according to the website, costs 1 million euros, or R$ 6.75 million.
