Palmeiras receives FIFA approval after replacing the synthetic turf at Allianz Parque.

Palmeiras will make its home debut this season on Sunday (15), against Mirassol, in the Brasileirão.

Allianz Parque received the FIFA certificate to host the club’s matches, after an inspection of the new synthetic turf, carried out last week. As a result, the game between Palmeiras and Mirassol, scheduled for next Sunday (15), for the Brasileirão, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), will be at the venue.

The replacement of the Allianz Parque pitch was a joint investment by Palmeiras and WTorre, costing R$ 11 million, and began in December of last year. The results of the evaluation, carried out in approximately seven hours of work, will be released in the coming days, but the expectation is that there will be no issues.

The Palmeiras stadium features seventh-generation synthetic turf, the most modern artificial turf technology for high-performance sports, in compliance with the guidelines of the governing body of football.

– It was great to be back at Allianz Parque. We had been waiting for a few months to play here again. It’s always very special for us to play at home. And the pitch is spectacular, it’s very good. The color was also right, it looks a lot like natural grass. It will be positive for our games – said Flaco López, after Verdão’s first training session at Allianz Parque, this Tuesday (10).

The new synthetic turf at Allianz Parque, supplied by Soccer Grass, was installed using meticulous and sophisticated processes. Initially, the cork and sand were removed, the grass was taken out, and the drainage channels were opened.

Subsequently, there was the removal of infill residue, the leveling and compaction of the gravel layer, the opening of the shock pad rolls, the installation of the turf mats, and the spreading and distribution of sand, in addition to the field demarcation and other installations. As if the modernization of the turf wasn’t enough, an upgrade to the drainage system was also carried out.
