Botafogo is negotiating the signing of defender Nahuel Ferraresi from São Paulo . The Glorioso ‘s proposal is a loan until December 2026, with an option to buy at the end of the period. The parties are still discussing the terms of the negotiation.

If the negotiation goes through, Botafogo will be responsible for paying the Venezuelan player’s entire salary during the loan period. The information about the negotiations was first reported by journalist Bernardo Gentile and confirmed by Don Predict! ‘s investigation 

Ferraresi was on Botafogo’s radar in December, but negotiations didn’t progress. A possible player swap was discussed, but without success. However, Botafogo contacted São Paulo again for the defender earlier this week.

At the time, Botafogo preferred to invest in other market opportunities, but faced difficulties in finalizing deals, mainly due to the transfer ban. With the closing of the international transfer window, the Rio de Janeiro club is once again pursuing the Fluminense defender.

Ferraresi has been at São Paulo since August 2022 and is a starter for the Venezuelan national team. In 2026, the 27-year-old defender played five matches for São Paulo, starting two of them.
