A Felgueiras player has been discharged from the hospital after suffering burns.
After suffering burns to his leg following a house fire, Léo Teixeira, forward for Felgueiras, left São João Hospital in Porto on Sunday, where he received medical treatment.
“Léo is recovering well from the burns he suffered on his leg, having been discharged yesterday [Sunday] from São João Hospital. We want to thank the entire plastic surgery service, especially Dr. Bernardo Correia, for the dedication, care and closeness always shown to our athlete. To our Léo, another step in his recovery, to return well and in top form,” reads the note published by the Second League club on social media.
The 26-year-old Portuguese footballer suffered the burns on December 1st, following a house fire, and was transported to the Padre Américo Hospital, headquarters of the Tâmega e Sousa Local Health Unit, in Penafiel, before being transferred to the São João Hospital.
Having played in 14 official matches this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist, Léo Teixeira still doesn’t know when he will be able to return to training under coach Agostinho Bento, an official club source told Lusa.
