Vini Jr sends a message to the fans and demands better decisions from Real Madrid: ‘We have to improve’

At the club since 2018, the Brazilian is one of the team’s leaders.

2025 was an intense year for Real Madrid . After a brilliant period in 2024, Los Blancos went through a season marked by turbulence, frustrated recoveries, and abrupt falls, demonstrating the difficulty of staying at the top. Therefore, Vini Jr. spoke publicly before the end of the year, assessing the team’s performance and projecting 2026.

Vinícius gave an interview to Real Madrid TV after the open training session this Tuesday (30), held at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium, in Madrid. Fans packed the stage for the reunion with the players, after the brief break in La Liga at the end of the year.

“We know we have to improve so that 2026 will be a better year for everyone, and especially for Real Madrid fans. I’m still learning a lot at this club, with these fans, with everyone. We know it wasn’t a great year for us (2025), but we have no doubt that we will come back, that we will win again and that we will be at the top,” said Vini Jr.

Madrid returns to the field on January 4th against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu at 12:15 PM (Brasilia time). In La Liga, the team occupies second place with 42 points in 18 matches—four less than the leader Barcelona —resulting in 13 wins, three draws, two losses, 36 goals scored and 16 conceded. This season, the team has shown inconsistent performances both in the league and in the Champions League ; they are in seventh position after six rounds, with four wins, two losses, 13 goals scored and seven conceded.

How was training? ⚽

Coach Xabi Alonso led a training session in front of the fans, which was attended by the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold , Éder Militão , and Dani Carvajal , as well as Brahim Díaz , who is participating in the Africa Cup of Nations for Morocco . At the end, the players went to the fans, signed autographs, distributed balls, and posed for photos. Opened in 2006, the stadium hosts matches for Real Madrid’s reserve team.
