OFFICIAL: Salvador Blopa renews contract with Sporting until 2030

It’s official: Sporting have renewed the contract of this season’s young sensation. The Lions officially announced this Sunday the renewal with Salvador Blopa until 2030. The 18-year-old forward now has a release clause of 80 million euros.

Blopa arrived at Sporting in 2017, initially to represent the under-11s. He completed his remaining training with the Lions, after having taken his first steps at Fontainhas. After progressing through all the Sporting youth levels, the player from Cascais made his debut for the first team this season.

Under Rui Borges’ guidance, Blopa won over the fans with a brace on his debut against Alverca in the League Cup. Furthermore, the Sporting Lisbon prodigy earned more playing time in the top flight on two occasions in the Champions League and once in the Portuguese Cup. 

“It’s been a rollercoaster of great emotions. It’s good for my growth and I’m very happy to have been able to realize these dreams. I’ve always had my ambitions, but I was focused on the day-to-day and my evolution, and I didn’t expect this day to arrive so soon,” he confessed, quoted by the club’s communication channels.
